How to Set up Net10 Web, Data, and MMS for Your iPhone Running iOS 7

Test Your Settings

Once you have finished entering your Cellular Data Network settings, restart your iPhone and test data, mms picture messages and group text messages.

Restart Your iPhone

After entering the Cellular Data values,  restart your iPhone, and test.

Test Your Data Connection

The first section of this guide had detailed steps that show you how to test your data connection using Safari. Make sure your Wi-Fi connection is off.

Test Your MMS Picture Messaging

Before you test MMS Picture Messaging, make sure you turn off iMessage and turn on MMS Messaging and Group Messaging.

  1. Tap  Home
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Messages
  4. Tap the button next to iMessage if it green to turn it off.
  5. Tap the button next to MMS Messaging if it white to turn it on
  6. Tap the button next to Group Messaging if it white to turn it on
  7. Tap Home
  8. Tap Messages

When you test MMS make sure you message are green and not blue. If they are blue, you are still using iMessage. iMessage uses your data connection, not MMS picture messaging.

Test Your Group Text Messages

I do not use group text messages. If you do, test both sending and receiving. Group text messaging uses MMS not SMS.

If Your Data or MMS doesn’t work

If after doing the SIM swap your data doesn’t work, repeat the process and enter just your Data APN. Do not worry about MMS. If you followed the first part of this guide, you should have found the correct data APN when you installed the APN profile.  Enter your Data APN carefully,  iOS 7 likes to change it back on you while you are editing. If it still doesn’t work. you can try the other two data APNs and see if one of those work.  If none of these work, go back to the first section of the guide and try the APN profiles again. If you get your data to work, you can then try the SIM swap again and enter the values for both data and MMS.

If it still doesn’t work, leave a comment.

If your data works, but not MMS, SIM swap again and try some of the alternative sets  of values that match your Data APN.  Again be carefully while entering the values, iOS 7 likes to change them back on you.
