Help Setting up Straight Talk Data and MMS on the Panatech Burst 9070 Running Android 2.3.5

I created this page to help readers set up data, Internet, MMS picture messages, and group texts on the Panatech Burst 9070 running Android v2.3.5 (Gingerbread). If your voice service or SMS text messages are not working this page isn’t going to help you. Contact Straight Talk support.

There are many different Android phones on the market and I don’t have this specific phone. I have written setup guides for iPhones, other Android phones, and even Windows 8 phones so the information here should be enough help you.

With a little effort you should be able to follow the instructions here to get your phone working properly.

To use this guide you should have your Burst ready to go with an active Straight Talk SIM. Your voice service and SMS text messages should be already working.

To get data, Internet, MMS picture messages working you have to setup your APN and MMS in your phones’ Settings.

Straight Talk sells both AT&T network compatible and T-Mobile network compatible SIMs. You need to know the correct values to enter.

If you are using the Straight Talk ATT SIM your values are:

APN: tfdata
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS Port: 80

If you are using the Straight Talk T-Mobile SIM your values are:

APN: wap.tracfone
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS proxy port: 80

If you have already tried to set up data and MMS using these values. Leave a comment and I will try to help. These are the most commonly used values.

  1. Tap Menu
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Wireless and networks
  4. Tap Mobile networks
  5. Tap Access Point Names
  6. Tap Menu
  7. Tap New APN
  8. Enter the information above
  9. Tap Menu
  10. Tap Save
  11. Reboot

If the instructions above don’t work for you. Check that you entered the settings correctly. It’s easy to make a mistake.

If you still can’t get it to work, leave a comment. There are alternative settings you can try.
