      Hi David,
Did you get MMS working too?
      Regards,
      Bob

      • David | | Reply

No, the only settings I entered was the tfdata.

        • Bob Thompson | | Reply

          OK.
Time to enter the remaining settings if you want to use MMS.

          start with
          MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
          MMS proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
          MMS Port: 80

          Save and test.

If that doesn’t work, or you can’t save your APN, add
          MCC: 310
          MNC: 410

Save and test, if it doesn’t work. add
          APN Type: default, mms, wap

          save and test

Let me know how it goes.

          Regards
          Bob

It did give me a warning that I had left my home network and needed to turn on Data Roaming. Which of course I ad not left my home network. But it did stat working after I turned it on. I just turned off roaming and it is still working for now. My status bar has said HOME all along.

Of course right after I posted the last comment, it started working. First I was getting E then 4G.

So I tried the data APN and that didn’t work. For connection bars I was getting 3 of 5 and there is no network connection status like LTE, H, 2G or E or 3G or 4G. Data is turned on.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, model #SM-G730A running Android 4.2.2 with a ATT compatible sim card for Straight Talk and phone is unlocked. I tried all 3 of the settings listed above but still nothing works.

      Hi David,
      Does your data work?
Did you look up your APN settings what are they!
      Regards
      Bob

No data doesn’t work and as I said, I tried all 3 sets of settings listed on here. I also used S.T. web site and downloaded the app from Google Play and still nothing. The setting that are current are the last set listed above.

For the Android 4.0 and 4.1 is is:
            APN Settings

            FIELD SETTINGS

            APN tfdata
            MMSC http://mms-tf.net
            MMS PROXY mms3.tracfone.com
            MMS PORT 80
            MMS_APN tfdata

For the Samsung Galaxy S (3G, 4G0 it is:
            APN Settings

            FIELD SETTINGS

            APN tfdata
            MMSC http://mms-tf.net
            MMS PROXY mms3.tracfone.com
            MMS PORT 80
            MMS_APN tfdata

            I have tried both.

Now that I look at them, they are the same.

            Hi David,
            Focus on data not working.
            1. Go to your APNs screen and delete all the APNs.
            2. Use the reset to default option
            3. Enter a new APN. Set the APN as tfdata. Add only any other values required to save the APN.
            4. Restart your phone
            5. test data

If data doesn’t work, look at your status bar. How many bars do you see. Do you see an network indicator (LTE, H, 2G or E).
Check you Mobile network settings and make sure data is enabled.

Let me know who it goes.
            Regards
            Bob

      Hi Cody,
Are you saying that you data isn’t working or that you aren’t getting 3G data? Do you know if you have the Straight Talk AT&T or Straight Talk T-Mobile SIM?

When you set up the APN what values did you use?
      Regards
      Bob
