Method 1 – Install Straight Talk’s APN Profile to get Your Data Connection working
You have to set the Access Point Names or APNs to get data and MMS services working. When you use AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon service, this happens automatically. When you use Straight Talk you set it up yourself.
You can download a Carrier APN profile from the web to get you data connection working. Straight Talk has three different Carrier APN profiles on the Straight Talk web site. Download and try each of the Carrier APN profiles until you find one that works. The Carrier APN profile will only setup your internet or data connection, not MMS. Yes you read correctly, the Carrier APN profile does not set up MMS. The next section of this guide explains how to set up both data and MMS. I recommend you use the Carrier APN Profiles from Straight Talk to get your data service working first. After data works, try the corresponding MMS APN and other information needed for picture messaging.
1. From your Home Screen, Tap Safari. Type http://iapnupdateatt.straighttalk.com. Tap Go

2. Safari closes. Install Profile opens. Tap Install. Tap Install Now
4. Turn your iPhone off. Turn it back on. Make sure you turned the power off, not just put it to sleep.
5. After restart, Tap Settings->WiFi->Off

6. From the Home Screen, Tap Safari

I can get the data but I’m SOL on getting MMS? I’ve tried several of the straight talk soon settings on the http://unlock it.co.nz and I tried both the others and all I get is data. I was wanting the MMS as well.
What version of iOS are you using?
I have an iPhone 3gs…ios 6.1.6. Followed all the instructions and was able to get data working with the first part but when it came to switching the SIM cards for mms the Cellular Data option never showed up, even with restart. What do I do now???
And yes it is an AT&T SIM.
What SIM are you swapping with?
I tried the T-Mobile SIM swap like the instructions said, and the Cellular Data option never showed up.
Hi Alice,
I don’t know. It’s been a long time since I wrote this article. I seem to remember some people having that issue. Try taking a took through the comments there might have been a solution. Try a network reset of resetting all settings. Resetting Network Settings on Your iPhone

Thank you so much for this post, I tried it all but the data still does not work… I have an iPhone 6 and am using the Straight Talk Bring Your Own Phone nano simcard compatible for T Mobile. Caing a non-US number, as I am not American an that did not work though). Can you help me out?
Hi Sanne,
Try the iOS 8 article
Setting up Straight Talk Wireless APN for Cellular Data, Internet, MMS Picture Messages on Your iPhone Using iOS 8
Straight talk only supports domestic calling. You need to buy international minutes. I think you still need to dial an 800 number to use the minutes too. Like a calling card. I think they have dialed app in. The App Store for that.
It worked! It worked! It worked! Thank you!!!!
Jewels,
Glad to hear it.
I have an old 3GS and tried the tmobile card trick. I could never get the cellular profile option to appear even after powering down and back on with the tmobile sim installed

Hi Makedrea,
I don’t understand the issue you are having. If your data / mnms doesn’t work and you are using the Straight Talk ATT sim, try resetting your phone to get it working. See Resetting All Your iPhone’s Settings
