I Updated My iPhone to TFW 18.1 and Its Working Fine

If you are a Straight Talk or Net10 Wireless customer and use and iPhone, you may be cautious about updates. In the past, updates to iOS or Carrier updates sometimes cause issues with Straight Talk data and MMS picture messages.

This morning I saw a message on my iPhone 5s letting me know a new carrier update was available. As usual, I decided install the new carrier update and make sure it doesn’t cause any problems. So I clicked OK and installed the update. My phone seems to be working fine. Data and MMS both working. I ran SpeedTest and didn’t notice and significant differences in download and upload speeds.

The current carrier bundle is TFW 18.0 and the new carrier update is TFW 18.1. The iOS 8 update shipped with TFW 17.0. I assume TFW 18.0 came with one of the iOS 8 updates because I never installed 18.0 and didn’t notice any differences.

Now remember, just because I updated and haven’t had a problems doesn’t mean you won’t have one. I don’t think you will but if you are the cautious type, maybe you want to monitor the comments on this article to see if other readers report any problems.
