Can I Move a Straight Talk SIM From A Moto Droid Razor To a Samsung Galaxy Note 3?

A reader, Marty asks,

If i’m currently using a droid razor on straight talk. Can I still use the same sim card in my new note 3 for straight talk. The note is unlocked.

Hi Marty,
If your using the Straight Talk AT&T or Straight Talk T-Mobile network you can use the same SIM if it fits in the Samsung Note 3. The Note 3 uses a micro SIM. I am not sure what size SIM the Droid Razor uses. If however, you are using Straight Talk’s Verizon network, its a complicated. Your phone needs to be compatible with the Verizon CDMA network. I think the specific Note 3 model is the N9009 You really need to register the Note 3 on the Straight Talk network. Straight Talk may want you to buy a new Network Access Code and SIM or may let you transfer both. I haven’t tried this myself. Some readers have told me if you just move a Verizon SIM to another Verizon phone it will work. There could be unknown issues with that as phones on the Verizon network are supposed to have their MEID number registered on the network. I hope this helps.
