Help with Net10 and the iPhone

I have had a fair amount of comments on my How to use your iPhone 5 with Net10 Wireless and  How to Setup Web, Data, and MMS for your iPhone running iOS 6 guides.  Some people are reporting that they still haven’t been able to get everything working. Since I dont’t have a support forum, I’ll ask you to leave a comment on this post if you still need help.

Bob, Thanks for posting these instructions. I’m almost there. Method 1 working (data and text) but I can’t get “cellular network Data” to show with the sim swap method. It’s an iphone 4 running 6.1.3 I just filled out the ATT form requesting the phone be unlocked. Sounds like I have to do that through itunes once they respond…? I ordered a t-mobile micro sim card to try the swap but received a standard size. I tried cutting it down. …so the inability to see the “cellular network data” may be from incorrectly cut micro sim card or not unlocked…? I will try a different t-mobile card as soon as I can get one and continue with unlock process. Does method 2 require you to delete profile even though I just added it for method 1 (tfdata from unlockit.co.nz)? I tried it both ways (deleting it and not deleting it). Any suggestions? Thanks.

I can get data to work by using http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ and selecting the “Net10 (tfdata)” profile. However, MMS won’t work. I then perform the sim-swap to change the Cellular Data information. MMS still won’t work. I then attempt the sim-swap once again and see that all of the information changes to ATT related stuff, stuff I didn’t enter.

Update: I can send pictures, but cannot receive them.

      Hi John
Did you delete the unlockit profile before doing the sim swap?
Are you entering the cellular data network information after you put the net10 sim back in the phone?
Try it again, this time after you entered the info, go and turn on airplane mode for 1 minute then turn it off
Reboot your phone and test. Other readers have told me this helps the values stick for them.

Let me know if this doesn’t help and I’ll recommend some alternative mms configuration info.

      Regards
      Bob

        Here’s what I just did:

        -Deleted all profiles.

-Enabled WiFi to install the unlockit Net 10 (tfdata) profile

-Disabled Wifi to check data (working) and MMS (not working)

-Did SIM-swap to access “Cellular Data”

-Entered the following into “Cellular Data” once my Net 10 ATT SIM was back in:
        APN tfdata
        APN tfdata
        MMSC http://mms-tf.net
        MMS Proxy mms3.tracfone.com:80
        MMS Max Message Size 1048576

-Turned airplane mode on for appox. 2 minutes then back off.

        -Rebooted phone.

-(With WiFi still off) Checked data (working) and MMS (Can send, cannot receive).

-Did SIM-swap again to check Cellular Data to find that it’s back to the ATT stuff (proxy.mobile.att.net, etc).

Hi Bob. Hoping you can help. I have an iPhone 4 using version 6.1.3. It has been unlocked by AT&T. I purchased a T-Mobile unactivated sim card to attempt the sim swap and get the cellular data tab. I have also tried using unlockit. Nothing so far has enabled my data. What could I be doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
