Picking a Straight Talk SIM for a BLU Studio 6.0 HD

A reader, Rodigo, asks…

I have the studio hd 6.0 what sim card in the striaght talk package works with this phone.

Hi Rodrigo,
You need to pick the correct size SIM and the SIM for the Straight Talk network you want to use. I looked it up and your phone use the standard sized SIM.

In the picture above, the standard size SIM is are the top left and right. In your case, remove the SIM from the plastic card, but do not remove the inner SIM from the outer plastic, the inner SIM is the micro SIM.

Next, you need to choose the SIM for either the Straight Talk ATT or Straight Talk TMobile network. Your phone should work with either. I usually recommend the ATT SIM, but if the ATT network doesn’t have great coverage in your area, the T-Mobile one might be a better choice.

I don’t know if it is still the case, but for a while those Straight Talk BYOP kits from Walmart had the SIMs labeled incorrectly. Take a look at Straight Talk Wireless Bring Your Own Phone Activation Kit SIMS Packaged Incorrectly

Save the extra SIMs, if you try the ATT network and the coverage isn’t good you can transfer your service to the tmobile one at a later time. It’s easy to do and doesn’t cost anything, you just need the SIM.

That is one big phone!

So will all Blu work with straight talk and dose the Blu have hotspots like my LG has

All BLU phones should work with ST’s AT&T ot T-Mobile towers. A couple models may work with ST’s Verizon towers. I cannot tell you whether or not you would be able to use hotspot with Straight Talk and a BLU phone.
While I understand that you are able to turn on and use hotspot with Straight Talk and your current phone be advised that Straight Talk does not include hotspot service as part of their plans even though sometimes it works.

What blu phones are compatible with straight talk?

All BLU phones are compatible with Straight Talk’s AT&T and T-Mobile network. They will not work with Straight Talk’s Verizon or Sprint network. I recommend picking a BLU model that says it supports 4G LTE and at least 16GB of storage.

Blu phones come have a pretty big price range from the $300 Pure XR to the affordable R1 at $100.

For Straight Talk pick the either the AT&T or T-Mobile network. You’ll need a SIM or Micro SIM. Straight Talk sells a Dual SIM that can be used ad either.
