In this article I’m going to check out the latest Simple Mobile plans and features for September 2021.Note that this is not a full review. I last reviewed Simple Mobile back in 2018. Network or Towers
Simple Mobile uses T-Mobile’s 4G LTE and 5G networks. To see if Simple Mobile has coverage in your area check the coverage map onesimplemobile.com <>. If T-mobile has coverage in the areas you use your phone, Simple Mobile might be a choice for you. To see the coverage in your area in more detail, click Change Location
Phones
When you sign up for Simple Mobile, you’ll need a phone. You can buy a phone directly from simplemobile.com

Bring Your Own Phone
If you already have a phone you may be able to use it with Simple Moblie. Your phone needs to be compatible with the T-Mobile network. if your phone is from another carrier other than T-Mobile check to see if it is unlocked. You can order a $1 SIM card from from simplemobile.com

Simple Mobile offer five Single Line Plans. All Single Line Plans include:

- Unlimited Nation wide next
- international text messages to 380+ countries
- Free International Calling + $10 International Credit
- International Roaming in 16 Latin American countries
Plan prices
All single line plans are eligible for an AutoReup discount. AutoReup is an automatic payment plan. Let Simple Mobile charge your plan to your credit card each month, and you’ll save a few dollars.
All Single Line Plans are for 30 days altough may refer to them as monthly. Taxes and fees not included in the price.
In my experience Tracfone brands charge taxes and fees based on the state your area code is assigned to.
$25 3GB Plan
The $25 Plan includes all the features listed above. This plan includes 3GB high speed data after that you’ll be connected at reduced 2G speeds. If you enroll in AutoReup the price drops to $23.75.
$30 5GB Plan
The $30 Plan includes all the features listed above.This plan includes but 5GB high speed data after that you’ll be connected at reduced 2G speeds. If you enroll in AutoReup the price drops to $28.50.
$40 15GB plan
The $40 Plan includes all the features listed above. This plan includes 15GB high speed data after that you’ll be connected at reduced 2G speeds. If you enroll in AutoReup the price drops to $37.50
$50 “Truly Unlimited” Plan
The $50 Plan includes all the features listed above. This plan includes Unlimited high speed data after that you’ll be connected at reduced 2G speeds. It’s not clear what Simple Mobile means by Unlimted, the fine print states “Speeds may be further reduced for a small number of customers who use more than 40GB”. If you enroll in AutoReup the price drops to $47.50
The plan includes 5GB Data for Mobile Hotspot. As a special promotion you’ll pay $45 on AutoReup for first three months. Data speeds are reduced so that video streams at 480p.
$60 Truly Unlimited Plan
The $50 Plan includes all the features listed above. This plan includes Unlimited high speed data after that you’ll be connected at reduced 2G speeds. It’s not clear what Simple Mobile means by Unlimted, the fine print states “Speeds may be further reduced for a small number of customers who use more than 40GB”. If you enroll in AutoReup the price drops to $57.00
The plan includes 15GB Data for Mobile Hotspot. . Data speeds are reduced so that video streams at 480p. The plan also incldess 50GB of Simple Mobile Clould Storage
More About Plan Data
If you use up all your fixed high speed data before your plan renews you’ll stil be connected at reduced 2GB data speeds. 2G reduced speecs will impact what you can do. Any unused high speed data expires when your plan renews
If you run out of high speed data, you can add more. You can use all of your high speed data with Mobile Hotpsot with the fixed data plans. You can use 5GB or 15GB of high speed data with hotspot on the $50 or $60 unlimited plans respectively.
On the unlimited plans, video streams at reduced SD quality. During periods of congestion, customers may experience reduced data speeds as compared to T-Mobile customers. Speeds may be further reduced for a small number of customers who use more than 40GB.
Multiple Line Discount
Simple Mobile offers a mult-line discount. You can add up to five lines on the same plan to receive a discount. The discounts are on lines two through five.
- With the $25 plans, additional lines are $20 each for a $5 savings per line
- with the $30 plans, additional lines are $25 each for a $5 savings per line
- with the $40 plan, additional lines are $25 each for a $15 savings per line
- with the $50 plan, additional lines are $25 each for a $25 savings per line
- with the $60 plan, additional lines are $25 each for a $35 savings per line
You will not qualify for the AutoReup discount when you have multiple lines
International Calling
Simple Mobile include free International Calling to 69 destinations. You can call up to 20 unique numbers. Additionally you’ll get $10 calling credit for the locations that you cannot call for free.
Simple Mobile offerd direct international dialing (IDD) as well as a dial up access number in case you experience problems calling internationally. Simple Mobile has Dialer App in iPhone App Store and Google Play store.
Make sure to check if you can call the countries you want and whether you can call landlines, mobile phones, or both. I was confused looking at the list of countries though. See my video for more.
International Roaming
Simple Mobile includes international roaming in 16 Latin American countries. All plans include 300 talk minutes, data access, and unlimited texts in: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay.
Add-On Data
If you run out of high speed data before your plan renews you can buy additional high speed data. There are three choices for add-on data.
- $5 for 2GB ($2.50 per GB)
- $10 for 5GB (2.00 per GB)
- $20 for 10GB ( 2.00 per GB)
Note that data expires at the end of your current plan does not roll or carry over. Simple Mobile states these add-ons can be used as regular data. It’s not clear if it can be used for mobile hotspot.
Wi-Fi Calling
Simple Mobile supports Wi-Fi Calling. Wi-Fi calling lets you make and receive calls and send and receive text messages using your Active Wi-Fi connection rather than the cellular network
Mobile Hotspot
Simple Mobile supports Mobile Hotspot. Mobile Hotspot lets you connect your laptop, tablet, or other Wi-Fi connected device to the interent using your phones cellular data connection.
Simple Mobile also supports Visual Voicemail. You can use Visual Voicemail on compatiblle phones if you phone does not support Visual Voicemail you’ll have Dialin Voicemail.
