Today I wanted to tell you about Sunshine Mobile. Sunshine Mobile promises a cell phone contract with no credit checks. With Sunshine Mobile, people with bad credit or no credit can get a premium phone and cellular service without a credit check. Sunshine Mobile offers premium smartphones from both Apple and Samsung.
Be advised though if you sign up for Sunshine Mobile you’ll pay a hefty price for a premium phone. For example, Sunshine mobile has the iPhone X for 52 weekly payments of $26.65 per week for a total price of $1385.80. Apple’s retail price for the same iPhone X is currently $999. In the end you’ll pay about $386 over the retail price for this iPhone X. That’s close to 39% over retail price. Worse, is that if you sign up for Sunshine Mobile, you’ll need to make 12 weekly payments before they even send you the phone. That’s three months and about $320.
Sunshine Mobile also has the Samsung Galaxy S9+ for 52 weekly payments of $22.66 for a total price of $1178.32. While the retail price of the S9+ is $890, you can often find this phone for less. Currently BestBuy.com sells the S9+ for $740 and Samsung.com has it for $790. In the end you’ll pay $438.32 over the Best Buy price for this phone. That’s close to 49.2% over the retail price for the Galaxy S9+. And just like with the iPhone X, you’ll need to make 12 weekly payments before they even send you the phone. That’s three months and about $272.
As for phone service costs, Sunshine Mobile charges 7 cents per minute and text. Data costs 15 cents per MB, which comes out to $15 per GB. Sunshine Mobile doesn’t make it clear which cellular network your phone will use but simply says their SIM works with all the major networks in one SIM. This isn’t very clear as we are left wondering which major networks and does it mean the phone can switch between networks or you are assigned to one network when you sign up.
The website doesn’t provide any clear description of what happens if you decide to cancel your service either before or after you get your phone and instead just says to email them for more details.
As adults I think people are capable of making their own choices. If you really want a premium phone but have poor on no credit this is certainly an expensive way to buy one. On the other hand I think it’s a poor choice as if you have no credit or bad credit perhaps you could be spending your money more wisely. Either way, I’d hope people understand the cost and make an informed decision.
What do you think? Would you even sign up for Sunshine Mobile or recommend it to a friend? Leave a reply below and share.

This company is a joke and fraud I asked for a refund cause it’s been 2 months and no phone or sim card so they keep hanging up in my face so I have reported them to the cops and BBB so I don’t recommend this company AT ALL
HONEST CONSUMER REVIEW…..This company is nothing but scam…
UPDATE: This company is nothing but scam artist. When you sign up they take you thru an application process taking personal information before they inform you that you aren’t getting your phone for three weeks. Then they automatically start taking money out of your bank. I contacted them immediately after finding out I wasn’t getting the phone because I needed it like then not three months later and I couldn’t get ahold of them. Two weeks I get a response back they can cancel but they are only refunding me 33.00 out of the 53 they took out of my account. So wait you charge me 20$ for what. I received no contract no information regarding this fee? So I get a response today right my account is cancelled but check my bank account today and they charged me another 53$. After phoning them multiple times I’m informed now that they can refund me minus 20$ per payment. Wait… so you charge me 53 something dollars on 08/28/19 then all of a sudden when I cancel my account Charge it that day 09/09/19. If the payments are bi weekly wouldn’t the payment be due 9/11/19??????????? And Why did you take the whole 53 ish dollars when it should be half of that for a bi weekly payment. It doesn’t add up. They don’t wanna send me my contact …any other phone company will give you a contract letting you know when it started …the fees …and when payments are due. I will not stop until I get the 107$ they stole from me.
Oh, Then they call me multiple times to tell me if I take down this honest review they will waive one of the 20$ cancellation charges. You stated no where I would be charged a 20$ cancelation charge if I cancel and request a refund and that it would be per payment. Hello you had no right to steal money out of my bank today. I’m a single mom of almost 3 kids and I want a full refund simple as that. I never received a SIM card and never used they service so I am entitled to a full refund. Going to have my lawyers contact them because now they are delaying me From receiving any kind of refund because of this HONEST REVIEW!!! They are a scam. Don’t be fooled and don’t go with this company. They won’t be in business long!
I have been charged but have not received anything
My understanding is that you are required to make on-time payments for weeks or months before you would receive a phone.
Hiya av orderd a Samsung galaxy 9 note and av been waiting on it comming can you phone me back on 077xxxxxxx wen u get this msg thank un
No sorry, I don’t do phone support for readers. You are free to leave a comment with your question. Note, that I was discussing sunshine in the US in this article not the UK
Don’t use them the biggest mistake I ever made they are very unprofessional they blocked my number when I asked for a refund this a total scam
Their website is incredibly vague and that should scare you. How do they expect you to wait 3 months for a device if you dont have an unlocked device currently? The PAYG scheme would be nice for people who barely use their phone or are normally always on a wifi connection, but just wait for that month you are on vacation. Almost anyone would be better off saving their money for 3 months, buying an unlocked device, and signing up with Boost, Cricket, or Metro. Theres a website called decluttr (or something like that) that sells refurbed devices for very cheap and they all come with a 12 month warranty. Thats a far better option and youll know what network you’ll be using and be able to make choices based on that.
Adults need to make can make their own informed decisions. That said I’d never recommend sunshine to a friend or family member. Some people from the UK left comments in my video saying they thought it was a good deal. Whatever. I’d agree wit your suggestions or to by a cheap iPhone from one of the tracfone brands
