Question regarding transfer of service to Straight Talk with previously flashed Verizon Motorola Droid X…
Hello. Thank you so much for providing all of this valuable tech advice, first of all.
I have a Motorola Droid X which I bought through Verizon but had flashed to.use on a no-comtract network called Cricket. I get poor service with Cricket and would like to try transferring my number to Straight Talk (and hopefully the Verizon towers). Is this possible to do through the DIY steps posted on the ST website ?
I don’t know. You can go to the Straight Talk website and enter your phone’s serial number and see if it compatible.
Both Cricket Wireless and Verizon use CMDA networks. When you flashed your Verizon phone to use Cricket you may have tweaked the radio frequencies your phone uses. You may want to see if you can flash it back to a Verizon ROM.
Straight Talk also uses the Sprint network which is CDMA. I don’t think they would activate the phone on the Sprint network (it likely isn’t compatible). You might want to call and check with Straight Talk support.
