I signed up for Verizon Fios home internet service. I’m now paying $40 per month for very fast 200 Mbps internet service at home. It’s great! This service includes one year of Disney+ streaming service for free!
While my wife and I chose the $40 Internet service only package, Verizon.com Deals also offers packages with faster Internet, TV, and phone service. We are an internet only home, and prefer TV streaming service for the few things we watch rather than 100s of cable TV channels but Fios has you covered if that is what your family needs.

How To Get the $40 Verizon Fios Deal
Ok. Let me tell you about the $40 per monthly deal. To qualify for this $40 deal you need to do a few things.
First, you need to sign up on-line. Don’t call Verizon.
Second, You need to enroll in Auto Pay
Third, you need to enroll in Paperless billing
Finally, you need to pay using a debit card or your checking account.
The last point is important. You’ll need to sign up for auto pay and use your debit card at the time you sign up. If you don’t its going to cost you $50 per month. you cannot sign up and use a credit card and switch to a debit card alter to get the lower rate.
You should not need to pay an installation fee when you order online. My home was already wired for Verizon Fios so I did not require a service technician to install any thing.
Equipment
When you sign up you’ll need a router. You can buy or rent a router from Verizon Fios! or Bring Your Own Router. If you decide to use your own router, make sure to check that the Fios installation at your house will use an Ethernet connection and does not require a coaxial cable connection.
Installation
I had my service installed a a Saturday. The service wasn’t on in the morning. A quick call to technical support and the service was up and running. Super fast.
One Year Price, No Contract
There was no contract agreement for the $40 plan. As far as I can tell the price is guaranteed for one year and then discounts expire. I expect the price to go up by $10 to $15 at that time. But for the next year, I have fast internet service for $40 per month. Now more than ever we rely on fat reliable internet service to work form home during these times.
