Visible Prepaid Wireless Plans & Features – Unlimited Data as Low as $25 Jun 2020

Today I thought I’d check out Visible ‘s prepaid wireless plans and features for June 2020.

I haven’t reviewed Visible yet, but I signed up today and ordered my SIM today. Expect a full review in the future but for now lets put Visible under the magnifying glass to and see what they have to offer.

Now usually, when I examine prepaid plans I do it from using my computer. Today I’m going to try it using my iPhone. Normally I use my notebook because it’s not easy to find all the information on their sites let alone doing it on the small screen.

First up, a little bit about Visible. This is a privately owned company that was started by Verizon. Yes, Verizon.

Network & Towers

Visible uses the Verizon 4G LTE network. Given that the company is owned by Verizon, that should not be a surprise. To sign up for Visible you’ll need a phone that is compatible with Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Visible does use Verizon’s older CDMA network, so if you live in an area that still only gets CDMA service, Visible isn’t an option for you. Visible has not information about 5G support at this time.

Plans & Pricing

Visible has kept it simple. They only offer one plan. A lot less to understand.

Visible Unlimited Talk, Text and Data for $40 (and as low as $25 per month)

Visible offer unlimited talk, text, and data for $40 per month. Take advantage of the Party Pay discount and you could lower the cost to $25 per month.

Plan Details

Here is a rundown on the plan details.

Unlimited Talk

Visible offers unlimited nationwide talk. By nationwide, I mean calling from inside of the U.S. to other U.S. phone numbers. Visible currently does not offer calling services to and / or from Mexico and Canada and they do not include any International calling service.

Unlimited Text

Visible also includes unlimited nationwide text messages. The same rules for talk apply to text messages.

Unlimited Data

Visible includes unlimited data! That’s right unlimited data. According to visible.com there is not max download speed limit or cap, they had one in the past, but have removed it. When the Verizon network is busy with a lot of traffic, Verizon customers will be prioritized, so Visible customers will see slower speeds.

Promotions

As of June 2020, Visible is offering a special promotion. Sign up and you’ll get your first month for $25, a $15 savings. This is a limited time offer.

Party Pay Discount

Visible offers one discount called Party Pay. When two people join a party, the plan price drops from $40 per month to $35. With three people it drops to $30 per month. With four people the price drops to $25 per month. Party Pay is similar to a family plan or multi-line discount. The difference here is that each person gets their bill each month and is responsible for their own payment. For a party with four people, that’s a savings of $15 per month, a 33% discount.

Features

Visible includes Mobile Hotspot, Wi-Fi Calling, and Visual Voicemail. These are the three most popular features my readers and viewers want andask about most often.

Mobile Hotspot

Visible includes Mobile Hotspot.

Mobile Hotspot lets you connect your laptop, tablet, or other Wi-Fi devices to the internet using your phone plan’s cellular data connection. To learn more, see What is Mobile Hotspot?

Most unlimited prepaid wireless plans include only a fixed amount of high speed mobile hotspot data, commonly 5,10, or 15 GB. Visible includes unlimited data. But there are two restrictions. First they have a Maximum download speed limit or cap of 5Mb/s. Second, you can only have one device connected at a time.

I think these restrictions are reasonable as phone plan is not meant to replace your home broadband internet connection. Still I know there are a lot of people that want to use a mobile plan this way. Gamers that want to download extremely large game files.

Wi-Fi Calling

Visible includes Wi-Fi calling.
Wi-Fi Calling let’s your phone make and receive calls and texts using your active Wi-Fi connection rather than your carrier’s cellular network. With Wi-Fi calling you can use your phone in places where their is little or no cellular signal but you have access to Wi-Fi. For example, if you have Wi-Fi at home or the office, but your cellular reception is bad. To learn more, see What is Wi-Fi Calling?

Visual Voicemail

Visible also includes Visual Voice Mail.
Visual Voicemail lets you view voicemail messages you receive and listen to your messages in any order on your devices. You can scroll through your messages, pick the ones you want to listen to, and erase them right from your device’s screen. To learn more, See What is Visual Voicemail?

What’s Missing?

So what doesn’t Visible offer? Well they cut out many of the normal things that both post paid and prepaid wireless services normally offer.

You can only sign up for Visible online. They do not have their own stores or resellers. Unlike other prepaid services, they do not have a retail presence at stores like Walmart, Target, or Best Buy. There are no fill cards available in stores. All payments are handled online using credit cards, PayPal, per Venmo.
Sign up, set up and support, are all online. You cannot call them for customer service. To speak with a representative, you can contact them using online chat and request a call.

So how effective is the model? I’ll find out when I complete my review.

What about you? Are you using Visible? Thinking about signing up? :Leave a reply below and share.
